Sprinkling Information
We encourage everyone to let their lawns go dormant or brown during the summer. In lawn care, "Brown is the New Green". However, if you feel you must water your lawn, please be aware that most communities have ordinances in place regarding lawn sprinkling. Look for your community below to find out the rules where you live.
Brookfield - Town: Outdoor water sprinkling is allowed by properties with even numbered addresses on even numbered days of the year and by properties with odd numbered addresses on odd numbered days of the year between 6:00 pm and 8:00 am. Brookfield - City: Outdoor water sprinkling is allowed by properties with even numbered addresses on even numbered days of the year and by properties with odd numbered addresses on odd numbered days of the year before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m. on the designated day. Sussex - Village: Sprinkling during the months of June, July, August and September will only be allowed in the Village of Sussex on an even/odd schedule. Residents whose address ends with an even number can water on even numbered days. Residents whose address ends with an odd number can water on odd numbered days.
Waukesha - City: Odd numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays and Saturdays before 9:00 am or after 5:00 pm. Even numbered addresses may water on Thursdays and Sundays before 9:00 am or after 5:00 pm. A hand held water can, container, or hose may be used at any time to water gardens, trees, or shrubs if the device is utilized manually and not left unattended.
